Here are some flavors I've been loving this season—perfect for any occasion.
Charred Lemon Swayze
This drink is just so freakin' good—refreshing and light. Honestly, it’s the perfect drink for any season!
Ingredients:
1 oz Charred Lemon Juice
2.25 oz Whiskey (I prefer Maker’s Mark)
0.5 oz Agave Syrup
How to Char a Lemon: There are a couple of ways to do this! If you’ve got a grill, just throw them on there. If you have a cast-iron skillet, throw them in there on the stove. If you have a butane bartender torch, feel free to use this in a pinch.
Instructions:
Add ice to a shaker and shake all ingredients well.
Pour into a glass and garnish with the charred lemon you squeezed.
Mocktail Version:
1 oz Charred Lemon Juice
0.5 oz Agave Syrup
Top with Club Soda
Garnish the same way as the cocktail. A mint sprig would help it look refreshing, and a rosemary sprig would be nice aesthetically too!
Hugo Sage Spritz
A refreshing and aromatic spritz with a twist!
Ingredients:
0.5 oz Lemon Juice
0.25 oz Elderflower Liqueur (or Syrup)
0.5 oz Sage Syrup
4 oz Prosecco
Top with Club Soda
Instructions:
Mix all ingredients together and stir for 20 seconds.
Garnish with a sage sprig and lemon wheels.
Elderberry Syrup:
This is a little more complex so I include the recipe I follow to make it here. You can also purchase as syrup on Amazon, however, I recommend making homemade.
Mocktail Version:
0.5 oz Lemon Juice
0.25 oz Elderflower Syrup
0.5 oz Sage Syrup
Top with Club Soda
Garnish the same way to make it look refreshing and simple. A little powdered sugar on top is a cute touch!
Clover Club
Okay, now this one I can’t say I came up with, but I just tried it for the first time, and boy, have I been missing out! As a huge gin fan, I can’t believe this has been hiding from me for so long. Here’s the traditional recipe and a fun way to make it your own.
Ingredients:
1.5 oz Gin (I prefer Hendrick’s or Bombay Sapphire)
0.5 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
0.5 oz Raspberry Syrup
1 Egg White (or aquafaba)
2–4 Raspberries for garnish
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake vigorously until you get a nice foam top.
Garnish with raspberries or drizzle raspberry syrup on top to create a pretty finish.
Raspberry Syrup:
Combine raspberries, sugar, and water in a pot and simmer for 20 minutes.
Strain to remove raspberry pulp.
Cheers!
Let me know what you guys think!
